Legacy Leaders

Honoring Our Legacy Society

This week, we honor our Legacy Leaders whose shared belief in Habitat Broward’s mission helped transform our community, and whose legacies continue to shape it today.

Ed Ansin. Rick Case. Bob Leider. Bob and Sherry Taylor. Bill Wadsworth.
Legacy Leaders. One shared vision. A lasting legacy.

Each of them believed, deeply, personally, and generously, that every family in Broward County deserves a safe, stable place to call home. Their commitment helped bring hundreds of homes and hundreds of families to life, right here in our community. They each gave more than $1 million in financial support, during their lifetime, to Habitat Broward. Their families and businesses stay connected to this mission, to this day.

During Habitat Broward’s Legacy Week, we pause to honor their memory, celebrate what they built, and recognize the families and partners who carry their commitment forward every day.

Our Legacy Society Honorees

Bob Leider

Among Habitat Broward’s earliest and most devoted champions, Bob Leider helped lay the foundation for everything that followed. His legacy of generosity and hands-on commitment continues through Kim Ball, Courtney Berry, Ray Berry, and Florida Girls Giving Back — a community of builders carrying his vision forward.

Ed Ansin

As owner of WSVN, Ed Ansin used his platform and his personal presence — showing up for builds alongside volunteers — to amplify Habitat Broward’s mission. His commitment lives on through Andy and James Ansin, Paul Magnes, Craig Stevens, Lily Pardo, and the ongoing volunteerism of the WSVN family.

Rick Case

Rick Case’s visionary partnership with Habitat Broward helped create Founders Park — A Rick Case Habitat Community — the largest workforce housing community in Broward County. His legacy continues through Rita Case, Raquel Case, Ryan Case, and annual sponsorships that keep his commitment to affordable housing alive.

The Taylor Family

Robert T. Taylor Sr. and Sherry Taylor founded Burdette Beckman (BBI) in their home, and it grew into a national consumer products agency, serving as title naming sponsor for two Habitat Broward communities, creating 46 forever homes. Their legacy lives on through Robin Taylor Fleming and Robert T. Taylor Jr.

The Huizenga Family

Marti Huizenga was Women Build’s first sponsor, championing the program for a decade. Wayne Huizenga was a titan of South Florida philanthropy. Together with BJ Huizenga, the family was foundational to Habitat Broward’s growth and culture. Steve Hudson honors that legacy today through continued support.

Bill Wadsworth

For years, Bill Wadsworth personally sponsored Habitat homes — naming each family as the honoree of each home he funded. His generosity lives on through the Wadsworth Family Foundation, with ongoing home sponsorships and a matching gift for the End of Year Season of Giving campaign.

Every home we build is a testament to the leaders who believed before it was easy to believe.
