POMPANO BEACH, Fla. (July 2, 2018) – Habitat for Humanity of Broward recently dedicated five new homes in Pompano Beach, four of which were sponsored by JM Family Enterprises.

Dignitaries at the event included Brent Burns, Kim Bentley, and James Davey of JM Family Enterprises; County District 4 Commissioner Chip LaMarca; and Congressman Ted Deutch, who thanked the participants and sponsors for their commitment to making Broward County better.

Congressman Ted Deutch addresses the crowd at Habitat Broward’s dedication of five homes in Pompano Beach.

“These are the 32nd, 33rd, 34th and 35th houses that we’ve done in the last 16 years,” said Burns, President & CEO, JM Family Enterprises. “Habitat is a great organization and what a fantastic way to give back to the community that we live and work in.”

JM Family Enterprises has reached its milestone of 35 homes in the same year as Habitat Broward’s 35th anniversary.

“Every one of our homeowners has worked very, very hard to get to these homes,” said Robert Taylor, Board Chair for Habitat Broward. “These homes aren’t given away. They earn them. They give 300 hours of work. They take classes on home ownership and finances and then finally they’re presented with a home that they’ve earned their way into with a zero interest mortgage.”

In addition to sponsoring the homes, JM Family Enterprises associates donated thousands of hours to construct the homes.

Sponsors for the fifth home included the Rosemary Duffy Larson Trust and TIAA Bank.
