Hard Rock Women Build Brings Community Together to Build Homes at Moss Estates in Oakland Park
Two-day initiative supports affordable homeownership for Broward families
OAKLAND PARK, Fla. (Oct. 27, 2026) – Volunteers traded their everyday routines for tools and teamwork during Habitat for Humanity of Broward’s 2026 Hard Rock Women Build, held Oct. 23–24 at Moss Estates. Presented by the Jack B. Rettig Foundation, with Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood as title sponsor, the two-day initiative brought women and men together to help build affordable homes for hardworking Broward families, many led by women.
300 volunteers joined future homeowners at the construction site, contributing carpentry, irrigation ditches, form boarding and landscaping, to advance work on the community. This year’s Women Build raised $1.6 Million to support Habitat Broward’s homebuilding efforts.
“Every volunteer who picks up a tool and every sponsor who invests in this work helps bring a family closer to homeownership,” said Nancy Robin, CEO and executive director of Habitat for Humanity of Broward. “Women Build turns that collective commitment into homes where families can establish stability and build a stronger financial future.”
The build days followed an Oct. 14 kickoff reception at AutoNation Headquarters in Fort Lauderdale, where supporters gathered to launch this year’s initiative.
“Seeing women come together on the build site, learn new skills and encourage one another is what makes Women Build so special,” said Nancy Daly, Women Build co-chair. “We’re proud to work alongside future homeowners and help create opportunities that will benefit their families for generations.”
Since its launch in 2002, Habitat Broward’s Women Build program has engaged, equipped and empowered more than 1,000 women to fund and build 52 homes throughout Broward County.
“Our motto, ‘Love All, Serve All,’ guides our commitment to supporting the communities we call home,” said Susan Renneisen, Vice President of Community Affairs and Special Events at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood. “We’re proud to serve as Women Build’s title sponsor and help Habitat Broward create opportunities for local families to achieve homeownership.”
