FORT LAUDERDALE (July 16, 2018) – Habitat for Humanity of Broward has named Casey Huber as its new ReStore general manager.
Huber comes to Habitat Broward after spending eight years as the ReStore director at Habitat for Humanity of Greater Cincinnati where he was involved with the opening of four ReStores that served a nine-county area.
Holding a business administration degree from the University of Cincinnati and an MBA from Xavier University, Huber also has extensive experience in the home building industry. He was Vice President of Sales & Marketing at Builder Resources for two years and President of Parkstone Homes for five years, both in Cincinnati.
“We are very excited to bring Casey to Broward,” said Nancy Robin, Habitat Broward CEO & Executive Director. “His experience and passion, both as a former builder and as the force behind the success of multiple Habitat ReStores in Cincinnati, are tremendous assets to our team. He will help us grow and serve more families.”
Huber’s interest in Habitat for Humanity began in the early 2000’s when he decided to become a volunteer. His passion for helping others has grown exponentially ever since.
“I truly believe in Habitat’s mission,” said Huber. “I saw early on how Habitat changed people’s lives and I knew I wanted to be a part of that process.”
Huber’s goal at Habitat Broward ReStore is to one day have the retail outlet positioned to fund the building of homes.
“Funds generated from Habitat ReStores typically cover the overhead of the affiliate,” he said. “I want to get to a point where we can directly fund home construction.”
Huber’s immediate priority is to improve upon the customer service experience. He has already hired a donations manager and there’s a new online donations program in place (which can be accessed through https://habitatbroward.org/restore/) to help facilitate the scheduling of pickups.
“We want to expedite and improve upon our donations process,” said Huber. “We want people to be able to help us to help others.”
