On Wednesday, RIVA Residences donated more than one hundred premier building materials to Habitat for Humanity of Broward. Doors and door frames, hi-hat lighting, flooring, insulation and bathroom materials were loaded at the RIVA Residences in Fort Lauderdale onto the Habitat ReStore truck.
“When it became evident that there were significant building materials that RIVA might have available, Habitat for Humanity of Broward naturally came to mind,” said Peter Zupcofska, of Douglas Elliman Realtors, the onsite realtor for Riva Residences. “RIVA immediately got on board and we hope that this inspires other builders and developers to follow our lead by supporting affordable housing through Habitat.”
Residents in the RIVA condominiums got excited about donating after Chloe Wolfson, RIVA Residence’s Manager, described the opportunity to make donations to Habitat Broward’s ReStore.
RIVA and Douglas Elliman plan to have an ongoing and expanded partnership with Habitat Broward, to include volunteering on builds and in the office, and making additional donations to the ReStore.
“We are so very grateful RIVA chose Habitat Broward and we thank them for their generous donation,” said Nancy Robin, CEO and executive director of Habitat for Humanity of Broward. “It is wonderful to have partners like RIVA and Douglas Elliman who care about our hard-working families. Their support will help us move more low-income residents into decent, affordable homes.”
