Fort Lauderdale, July 10, 2023 – Habitat for Humanity of Broward is pleased to announce the appointment of Carlos Iafigliola as a new member of its board. Iafigliola, who currently serves as the Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Amerant Bank, brings a wealth of expertise and experience to the organization’s mission of providing affordable workforce housing in Broward County.
Expressing her excitement about the appointment, Nancy Robin, CEO and Executive Director of Habitat Broward, stated, “We are ecstatic to have Carlos join the board. He brings invaluable expertise to our diligent board, working to provide affordable workforce housing in Broward County.”
In his role as COO at Amerant Bank, the largest community bank headquartered in Florida, Iafigliola is responsible for overseeing various aspects of the bank’s operations, including loan and deposit operations, project management, technology services, procurement, facilities, strategy, and digital initiatives. Additionally, Iafigliola chairs Amerant Investments’ Board, serves as a board member of Amerant Mortgage, and contributes his expertise as a member of United Way Miami’s Investment Committee.
Expressing his gratitude for the appointment, Iafigliola said, “I am honored to be appointed to Habitat Broward’s Board of Directors and look forward to collaborating with other board members to help drive positive change in the Broward County community.”
Prior to his current role as COO, Iafigliola served as the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Amerant Bank, where he played a vital role in the financial management of the organization. His responsibilities included treasury management, financial reporting and accounting, financial analysis, investor relations and sustainability, internal controls, and corporate tax.
Iafigliola’s educational background includes a degree in Economics from Universidad Católica Andrés Bello in Caracas and a master’s degree in finance from the Instituto de Estudios Superiores de Administración (IESA).
With the addition of Carlos Iafigliola to its board, Habitat for Humanity of Broward strengthens its leadership team, enabling them to make an even greater impact on the community’s affordable housing needs.
