Habitat for Humanity of Broward Homeownership Open Enrollment

Begins November 1 Ends November 17

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.  (October 31, 2017) – From November 1 to November 17, families interested in Habitat for Humanity of Broward’s homeownership program will have the opportunity to complete a pre-application questionnaire online.

Affordable homes with interest-free mortgages will be built in the Pompano Beach area for qualifying applicants.

“This is an exciting opportunity for hard-working families to become first-time homeowners,” said Nancy Robin, Habitat Broward CEO. “We encourage families to visit our site (www.habitatbroward.org) to learn more.”

Interested families should check the organization’s website to find out how Habitat Broward’s homeownership process works and to learn about the qualifications necessary to become a homeowner.

Applicants who meet the initial eligibility criteria will be invited to attend a Homeowner Orientation where they will be given a full application to complete. Members of the volunteer Homeowner Support Committee will then review the applications and supporting documentation to determine who is eligible to move to the next step, which includes a face-to-face interview and home visit.

Selected homeowners are required to take financial and money management courses, complete 300 sweat equity hours and make a modest down-payment.

For more information about the family selection process or the open enrollment period, please contact Habitat Broward at (954) 396-3030 and follow the prompts.
