
Broward County, FL. (June 15, 2018)– Habitat for Humanity of Broward recently dedicated seven new homes in Broward County’s Municipal Services District on Saturday, June 2, 2018.

Dignitaries at the event included Broward County Mayor Beam Furr, who spoke about the urgent need for affordable housing and who congratulated the families. Habitat Broward CEO Nancy Robin thanked sponsors, including Family Home Sponsors Publix Super Markets Charities, which sponsored two homes, Burdette Beckman, Inc., the Pauline M. Weinacht Philanthropic Fund, The Restaurant People and Marine Industries Association of South Florida. “We are beyond thankful for all our sponsors who made this day possible,” shared Nancy Robin, Habitat Broward CEO.
“Our homeowners worked very, very hard to get to these homes,” said Robert Taylor, Board Chair for Habitat Broward. “They give 300 hours of sweat equity. They take classes on home ownership and finances, and then finally they’re presented with a home for which they’ve earned a zero interest mortgage.”

An estimated 100 people attended the dedication which included a performance by the Dillard High School Drum Line.
