Open Enrollment Extended for Habitat Broward’s Homeownership Program Through Sunday, August 25

FORT LAUDERDALE (August 23, 2024) – Open enrollment for Habitat for Humanity of Broward’s homeownership program has been extended through Sunday, August 25. This is a chance for deserving individuals and families who missed the original deadline to submit their applications for the opportunity to secure an affordable home in Broward County.

Interested individuals and families are invited to visit https://habitatbroward.org/apply/ to start the process by completing a pre-qualification questionnaire during open enrollment up until August 25. Notifications regarding the next steps will be sent within two weeks of submission.

The program is designed to guide applicants through a four-step process: pre-qualification questionnaire, orientation, financial analysis review and face-to-face interview. Successful applicants can expect to complete the homeownership program within 12 to 18 months.

Eligible applicants who pass the pre-qualification questionnaire will be invited to the next phase in the application process. The next phase will include the following:

  • A step-by-step tutorial on completing a submission packet
  • Homeownership program application packet and documents request list
  • Detailed program information and FAQ packet
  • The final step involves a home visit to assess housing needs, followed by recommendations from an independent Home Selection Committee.
