A dynamic group of leading influential women came together at a North Lauderdale community with construction already underway, symbolizing the foundation of empowerment and opportunity. This special event marked the beginning of this year’s inspiring initiative that will see over 250 women roll up their sleeves to help construct homes for deserving families.

The five-daybuild event, scheduled for May 13-17, 2025, will bring together dedicated women from across Broward County to contribute “sweat equity” alongside future homeowners.

Thanks to the generosity and commitment of the presenting sponsor Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & CasinoHollywood and other visionary leaders including Rita Case/Rick Case AutomotiveGroup, Alan B. Levan / Susie and Alan B. Levan Family Foundation, CITYFurniture, Marcy Falcone, Nancy Daly, UKG, and WSVN/Channel-7, WOMENBuild 2025 will transform lives through both hands-on construction and critical funding.

“WOMENBuild is more than just construction, it’s about empowering women, strengthening communities, and creating a lasting impact,” said Nancy Robin, CEO and Executive Director of Habitat Broward.“We are grateful for the incredible women and partners stepping forward to make homeownership a reality for families in need.

”This year’s Women Build is named in honor of the late Susie B. Levan, a trailblazing philanthropist, author, and advocate for women’s empowerment. A pillar of the Broward County community, Levan dedicated her life to supporting women in their personal and professional growth. She founded the Work-Life Balance Institute for Women and Balance Magazine, creating platforms to uplift and inspire. Through the Susie and Alan B. Levan Family Foundation, she championed numerous charitable causes, including housing initiatives that improved the lives of families in need. Her enduring legacy of service and advocacy makes her the perfect namesake for this year’s Women Build, a program dedicated to providing stability and hope through homeownership.

Since its launch in 2002, Habitat Broward’s WOMENBuild program has engaged, equipped, and empowered more than 1,000 women to fund and build 52 homes throughout Broward County.

As part of a global movement, Women Build seeks to empower women to support other women and families in need of affordable housing. The need is especially great in Broward, the nation’s most cost-prohibitive community for affordable workforce housing.
